How to read the release
Headline vs. core
The core PCE price index excludes food and energy. It is one published view, not a substitute for the headline index.
Income and spending
The same release includes personal income, disposable income, consumption expenditures, and the personal saving rate.

When is the next PCE inflation report?
The next scheduled Personal Income and Outlays report is September 30, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. Eastern and covers August 2026.
Is PCE the same as CPI?
No. BEA and BLS construct the indexes differently, including their coverage and weighting. Compare like-for-like monthly or annual measures.
Does the release contain only inflation data?
No. Personal Income and Outlays also includes income, spending, disposable income, and saving measures.
