How to read the release

Three estimate stages

BEA publishes advance, second, and third estimates as more source data become available. Each stage can revise the prior one.

Real vs. nominal

Real GDP removes price-change effects; current-dollar GDP does not. Confirm the measure before comparing growth rates.

Headline vs. components

Consumption, investment, government, exports, and imports can contribute differently. The headline rate does not explain the mix.

Official source and limits

Primary source: U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis release schedule. BEA updates its schedule as needed, so verify the official page before relying on a date.

A scheduled date is not a forecast of inflation, growth, policy, or markets. VisionBoard Finance is informational and educational only; nothing on this page is individualized investment advice.
